We often hear the saying “viewing life through rose colored glasses”. This saying has a connotation of naivety, unrealism, and only positivity. I want to turn this on its head and make this page about seeing the beauty in all of it: the darkness and light. Life is a balance of ever changing experiences and we are at the center of it.
In order to find balance we must see how the darkness teaches us beautiful lessons. Lessons that will stick with us and that we would not have learned otherwise. These lessons are not heavy when we connect to the truth of why we needed them.
In the past few days I connected to a lesson and was feeling sad and angry at first, until I looked and saw the beautiful things that were born from this experience. I was reminded me how God/love is able to turn everything for our good.
Which reminded me, we can look at life one of two ways, like two sides of a coin:
One side is forgiving, loving, and compassionate. This side realizes you are human, will make mistakes, and needed to learn that lesson. This side loves you unconditionally.
The other side is judgmental and criticizes you for living, making a mistake, and not knowing better.
You choose which one you feed. Do you choose to be on your own team?
What to do when you connect to a lesson:
- Feel it. Cry, feel the anger, sadness, etc. Feel it all.
- Write down what it taught you and how change is necessary.
- Speak to yourself and forgive yourself.
- Be so grateful for what it taught you.
I learned valuable wisdom in this experience at work. In fact, that has been a big focus in my Saturn return; career, money, worth, and purpose. I learned to trust myself and God. I learned that I can have it all but I must work for it. This life is worth doing with love. I learned I have enough and no matter how turbulent life gets, and I get to shine and share my light. I learned to let go. I learned I get to decide. It is up to me.
In this unfolding of trust I saw how we really are energy. We attract the perfect experience for us to grow and be in more love because every experience is bringing us closer to love. How can I NOT believe in myself and God after yet another perfect opportunity where I learned to trust?
It may be tough when you are going through a lesson, but know you are growing and becoming so much stronger. That old version of you was trying to keep you safe and was scared of change, but nothing can kill you and you will make it through to the other side. It is darkest before dawn.
You got this and I am excited to see your rebirth.
