Meet Jessica
Hello Beautiful Souls,
Welcome to Strawberry Picking with Jessica. I am so happy you found your way to my basket of love on the internet.
My name is Jessica and I love sharing my strawberries of wisdom with you. I was born in Mexico and grew up in Minnesota with the most hardworking parents I know. I am the middle child of five and loved to travel, tell stories, and feel free. My journey back to myself started mid-pandemic when I prayed to God and asked Him to show me the way because I was ready. This simple but earnest prayer opened the doors to love like I had never known. I had no idea it would lead me on the most beautiful self-discovery journey from Arizona to Hawaii (and other places around the globe like Ireland and Japan) and who knows where else, I am just getting started and can’t wait to take you along for the journey.
This blog was born from the accumulation of all of my experiences and my love of sharing stories. When I opened my heart to love and God, I saw how beautiful life is, and my heart was transformed. I was overflowing with love and gratitude I just had to share. This blog is where I will share the raw, fun, and excitement I experience on this journey as I uncover wisdom.
The fruit from my Spirit is a strawberry because strawberries remind me of my mother and my rich culture. They represent the richness and fullness of being a woman. When I see a strawberry, I am reminded how safe and abundant I am in God’s Garden. Red can be seen as passion or danger depending on the perspective and for a long time, I saw life through fear. Once I opened my heart and mind to love I saw how beautiful it is to be present in creating what I love, and that we are not only safe to do so it is essential to living.
I think back to when I was the happiest as a child and it always revolved around a celebration with tres leches cake filled and topped with strawberries or sucking on a bolis de fresa on a hot summer day in Mexico visiting my grandmother. The strawberry perfectly captures the richness and essence of my culture and family. What once seemed dangerous is now a source of great passion and joy.
My roots helped me grow into the women I am, and I wanted to honor my family by including them in my special creation. Enjoy the strawberries from my life.
With love,
Jessica
