I woke up from a dream where a priest told me, “don’t let the evil spirit Scott control you”. “Scott?” I said knowing exactly what my subconscious meant. If I ever were to send secret codes to myself, like my life depended on it, they would be through words. With that being said, you know yourself best, therefore when deciphering dreams (and your truth) trust yourself above all else. Then, I immediately looked up the meaning of “Scott” and found: “The name Scott can also mean ‘wanderer’”.
What does “Wanderer” mean?
First, let’s take a look at what “wanderer” means
wan·der·er
/ˈwänd(ə)rər/
noun
A person who travels aimlessly.
Wandering isn’t “bad,” sometimes we need to start our quest and that means just going. Although it becomes aimless when we have extracted everything we needed to from a place, idea, or journey and stay searching when we have the answer.
You must not get stuck in the student mode forever. Of course, this does not mean you stop learning, but it means you have to graduate yourself if you want to give back and create something meaningful. Give yourself permission to speak and do what you love. As a result you can’t always be in lack mentality, because life has shown you you have all that you need. You do have something to offer the world. We can’t be stuck in the student mode and never give back, that would be very selfish to ourselves and others.
This means closing chapters in our lives that have shown us all they needed to.
What chapter in your life are you ready to close?
Keep these affirmations in your back pocket:
I know enough. I am enough. I trust my voice.
How does one get out of the aimless wanderer?
- Create a vision
Visualize the kind of life you want to lead and the person you want to become. Every day when you wake up, have a seat and see your higher self. You are creating her/him from your imagination. At first you are the only one who can see her/him but soon others will as you begin to show up and action as her/him.
- Know your WHY
Get clear on your values and why you want to live the life you want. This means getting to know yourself in the now. WHY do you want the things that you want? This could be because you know you are worthy of the life you dream about.
- Focus on your target by setting clear attainable goals
Set clear goals on where you want to go. Break down the big dreams into small actionable steps. Create each goal to be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. Build in check-in times through the week to see how you are doing.
- Be your Inner Team
Befriend yourself. This means listening to your mind, body, and soul and flowing. In addition, this also means befriending your fears and inner critic. Get to the root of why you don’t think you don’t know enough, are enough, or that it needs to be perfect to start. Examine these thoughts and pull them out, then replace them with thoughts that support the life you want to live. Repeat.
- Action – Pull back the archer and release
Action towards your dreams every single day. Dreams without action are just dreams. Remember you are worthy of going after your dreams and giving yourself the life you hold in your heart. Set your intention and action out towards those dreams, release any expectations of the outcome. Keep your eye focused on the intention.
- Never give up on yourself
That is the key to success. Therefore, you have to believe in yourself even when the whole world is telling you it will never work. Trust the love in your heart and the vision you see of yourself. Right now only you can see it, but soon they will too. It is your responsibility to create it everyday and by the time you look up, you will be so far on your journey.
- Cultivate Gratitude
Thank God and yourself for this beautiful journey because it is always leading you to your highest potential. Examine how far you’ve come on your journey and all the things you have learned. Celebrate all that you have learned and see the beautiful lessons that came from your success and setbacks.
Life is our greatest teacher asking us to uncover our truth
Life is our greatest teacher guiding us to become the best version of ourselves. We are students learning to co-create by grounding our emotions and actioning out with faith and love. Each chapter we find ourselves in is one that we give purpose to. This means having direction, aim, and leading with intention to co-create what you the student want to experience. In conclusion, we are a fraction of light and have the power to change our physical world with every action we take towards the life we want to build, but first that means having a target. Is your target worth leaving the old you behind to co-create your new life?
