Full Circle • Power • Worth • Discernment
Hi babes,
This past weekend I went on the most beautiful hike to Maui with a couple of friends. We hiked Haleakalā and camped in a cabin for the night in the volcano. It was magical from beginning to end. We saw different landscapes and felt like we were on mars. We saw beautiful sunsets and sunrises, and even laid out star gazing and saw the Milky Way.
Hikes Help Us Release
This trip was a beautiful release. When we go on hikes we release so much. Hikes are journeys/pilgrimage that help our mind and body release. Both your mind and body work together to process and put down the heavy baggage at the end of the trail. The walk is the way your physical body releases the heaviness and the fresh air and quiet is what your mind needs to release, so you can be with your inner dialogue to get to the truth in the silence. I am not the same person that started the hike. I uncovered so much about myself and where I was in life and truly what needs to change.
Look back to a time in your life when you went on a long hike and remember what you were going through at that time. What did you release? Was it hard to left go? How did you feel after?
“Pilgrimage” is often used to describe an individual’s journey through life, sometimes as a general description of personal growth and exploration (University of York). We all have pilgrimages we go on in our life and they always bring us closer to ourselves and God. The separation from our everyday life when we embark on a pilgrimage gives us the opportunity to observe our lives as an outsider and gives us a new perspective, because we are far removed from our every day.
Lesson in flowing
This trip was everything I wanted and more. It was actually on my vision board and I was blown away by how effortlessly it came together. I usually workout at 5:00 am but this particular day I woke up and decided to paint my nails. They were not dry in time so I could not make it to my regular workout class. I was a little annoyed at first because it messed with my schedule, but then I reminded myself to trust and know that I am flowing and working with life not against it. I trust that everything that comes my way is meant for me. This means with the little and big things. I went to the 6:15 am class and saw a friend I hadn’t seen in awhile. We have met about 5 times before, but instantly clicked and became friends. We shared some good laughs in class. She told me about the camping trip she has planned this weekend in Maui. I asked her the name and told her I had been itching to make it camping again, and before I could finish the sentence she asked if I wanted to go. I said, “absolutely”! It felt so right. I booked my flight and it all flowed.
Truly trust when things appear to not be going your way- sometimes those are the best surprises from life.
Breath Discernment
Hawaii has taught me discernment and connected me to my breath and thus my Spirit. Our breath comes from God. It is our life force that connects us love. It allows us to be souls here on earth and it will be with us until the last breath we take. The young women that moved here did not fully see her worth or power, but this island has held me while I cried in the ocean, played in the mountains, danced at sunsets, and laughed with friends who turned into family. It taught me so much and I am forever grateful. It has been the clay pot and fertilizer that has nurtured me as I bloom. Here my fears were washed away as I drew closer to love and truth. I learned to slow down, dance, and fully be present with my breath. This trip gave me new perspective. A time out. A pause long enough to see that the life I am living now is the one I prayed for. It allowed the last bit of the old to fall. This trip was a gift that allowed me to see who I am now. How I am blossoming into the women I’ve always wanted to be, and how we are the only ones who determine our worth. So look around you. Look at how far you’ve come. Look at how you’re blossoming and all that you have. Look at the beautiful life you created for yourself and all the love you now share with yourself and the world. See yourself fully and know you are worthy of the life you’ve dreamt of.
New Stronger Foundation Leading to Blossoming
Truly I left like something heavy left my body.
I released so much on the trip and found my footing on a new foundation built on faith and love. Our toughest times are there to help us grow and build us up in the darkness. Emotional release is what the body needs to let go of the heaviness and embody the new. When I came back from the trip I was very emotional and continued to realse until I felt lighter and in good Spirit.
Take Away
You will get there, one step at a time. And as you continue walking remember blossoming takes time so be gentle with yourself, because as a souls we came here to learn and expand. Know that your weaknesses are also your greatest gift. Your vulnerability is a gift that show your rawness and know you are still so lovable. It allows others to also expose their truth and know that I am just like you. Life is a blessing when you live with an open heart.
Journal Prompts:
- What is falling away from my life?
- What am I exchanging?
- What is my truth now?
- What do I want to build in your life?
- What do I need to release to build this new life?
- How can I trust myself more?
I love you!
