Transformation and Merry Christmas
I have always felt connected to the number 5.
Five is all about change and transformation. It is connected to the cycle of the caterpillar turning into the beautiful butterfly.
Change has been a big part of my life and I would say we are well acquainted. From before my birth my life changed drastically. A couple of months before I was set to come into this world my grandfather had a stroke and my parents rushed to Mexico to be with him. This change completely altered my life. I was born in Mexico meaning I would grow up undocumented when my parents inevitably returned to the States. Five can even be found in the time of my birth. I was born at 7:34 am, which reduces to 7:7 and that reduces to 5 (14). Another big change was when my parents decided to move from California to Minnesota. Some of my personal changes were when I was on a path to become a lawyer and completely altered that course, because it did not feel right. I quit my job during COVID and moved to Arizona and then a year later I moved to Hawaii. Now I found myself quitting my 9-5 to pursue my passion for writing right before the New Year in paradise.
Most people are scared of change but it is the only thing that is constant in this life. Without change we would not grow. I’ve found that while change can be scary, staying the same is even scarier. Looking back on all the changes in my life I can’t help but be so thankful for each one, because while they were scary at first they blessed me with so much wisdom and trust in myself and God.
On this beautiful day we see how important change is. Christ came down to give us truth and freedom. All we have to do is trust and have faith that we are guided and that we DO know the way. Change allows us to grow wings and fly free in a world that loves to cling to control. Change connects us to trust and faith in something greater. We start to see our life with so much love because we see how loved and supported we are.
So today I want you to think about what you are holding onto tightly that is keeping you from flying? Where are you scared to step into your full potential?
Just beyond the tight hold we have, there is magic. When we let go of what does not serve us; we make for our truest self and truest life. One that is not weighed down.
It’s safe to let go.
I love you,
Jessica
