Aloha and welcome,
Our mind needs to be renewed each day, just like we do. This is why it is important to keep a spiritual practice that will help you stay aligned to God/Love in this ever changing world. These are the non-negotiables I have found in my life to life a fulfilling life with peace in my heart;
- Say thank you for waking up
- Write freehand right when you wake up (at least 3 pages)
- Set an intention for your day
- Read The Bible
- Say, thank you throughout your day for everything
- Work out/ moving your body
- Connect every action with love
1. Say thank you for waking up
It is important to wake up with gratitude. This opens you up to receiving and allows you to connect to love immediately, setting the stage for your day. It primes your mind to remember this experience is a gift and you get to make it what you want.
2. Writing freehand right when you wake up (at least 3 pages)
Right when you wake up after using the bathroom, grab your notebook and pen and write free hand filling up 3 pages minimally. We are creatures that live in our heads and attach to stories as we go through life. Writing your thoughts is a good mental dump in the morning to see exactly where your energy is going and from there, choose what is serving you and what you are ready to let go of. This is easy to do when you see your thoughts on paper.
You will notice after the first day of completing this exercise just how much clear your mind is and how easily you are able to make decisions. Writing your truth is a form of meditation/ prayer. This is effective because you are sitting down with your fraction of light and getting clear on what is true.
Some prompts to get your juices flowing:
- What are you thankful for?
- What do you want your day to look like?
- What stories keep coming up?
3. Setting an intention for your day
Setting an intention is important because this intention will direct your mind throughout the day. It will keep you focused on who you want to act like and thus be and why. Your intention directs your actions. Your intention comes from within you. You decide what you will feel no matter what happens throughout your day.
4. Reading The Bible
This is essential. God is love and we are humans experiencing life beautifully like with our mind, which (as I have mentioned) needs to be renewed daily. God gave us love and we cannot be love if we do not spend time with God and His truth which is also our truth. You do not want to go more than ONE day without the Bible, even if you read for 5 minutes. Being with God is crucial to who you want to be. God is love and He teaches us what love is. We get refilled by Him. He is powerful and his word breaks through darkness because we get love through Him.
5. Saying thank you throughout your day for everything
Being grateful is one the quickest ways to bring you back to God/Love because we are joyful when we say “thank you” because we know God is perfect love and ultimately everything that comes our way comes form God for our greatest good. We can only think one thought at a time and when you feel yourself spiraling come back to the things you are grateful for: God, hope, writing, walks, etc. This allows you to see the thoughts that are not helping you and detach from them and connect to the love God has given us.
6. Working out/ moving your body
Our connection to our mind and body is essential to being our best selves. To live the life of our dream our body and mind need to be aligned. When we work out we are training our body (the beast) to listen to us and what working hard gifts us with. This trains your mind and body to be patient and see that discomfort is a beautiful and needed for growth.
7. Connect every action with love
Throughout your day remind yourself why you are here on earth and why you do the things that you do. Always come back to love because love will break through the falsehood of this world and your mind. Train yourself to do everything in love even if it is not easy because love will always lead you to become your best self. Always.
“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.Be strong. And do everything with love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13
I pray that was helpful and that you are able to incorporate more time with Love/GOD and see Him work through you.
Love,
Jessica
